Waisting Precious Time

As much as I feel no guilt at all about being a total lazy gecko when the opportunity seems fine, there are moments when time is too precious to be waisted. For example when you need to get ready to leave for work. But it's astonishing how a 60 meters sq. apartment can feel as large as a mansion when you're looking for your cellphone the precise moment you need it. It took me 15mn this morning to find my iPhone right when I was about to leave. Talk about a time-saving fine piece of technology... And no I couldn't call it as I refuse to plug a phone on my landline - to many calls advertising services I don't care about. Only to find it under a crossword magazine in the bathroom - could have been weirder, like left in the fridge...

Things always come in threes, they say: yesterday my keys fell in the recycling container without me noticing. I had to get back and empty the (of course) full container on the floor before I could catch them.
Two weeks before that, at 8pm on the eve of National day I went for an errand, realizing as soon as the building's door closed that I had forgotten to take my keys. A gentle retired couple living in my building let me in to use their phone in order to call a locksmith, which I could reach after trying a dozen of them. One hour later he was there and it only took him 2 minutes tops to open my door, and less than that to charge me 220€, ouch! Probably the most expensive cancelled errand I've ever made...
If there's a leprechaun currently visiting my area, I'd be really grateful to him if he could now get on with his tricks with another person (unless he looks like Pablo Schreiber in American Gods). In doubt I'll make sure to leave some fresh bread, a glass of milk and a coin on my balcony tonight before going to sleep :-)
