"trouser trout" (which made me laugh, BTW).

Trouser trout -- my goodness, I must be getting old -- I heard that name years ago (and I'm 80).
So this one is no longer in common use? I like its colorful language side anyway.
@ Bat - Your reader, Chris, is correct. it was in frequent use waaaaay back in the 50s and 60s. But I like to haul it out every once in a while. It's a fun expression,

Being born in the mid-sixties I'll feel entitled to using it, then, uh uh!
