431. I Am Not Fond of Diktats...

...or people deciding that one day or month of the year IS Fathers Day / Santa-Coca's Day / Masturbation Month / Women's Day, etc These people never asked for my opinion in the first place.

Should he be still alive I wouldn't wait for a specific day of the year to tell my father how glad I am he passed some of his qualities on me (and unfortunately some flaws as well :-) ; why wait for Dec. 25th to show my affection through presents ; I am a man, moreover a single man (*wink*), so it is definitely obvious that I have some me-time on a regular basis whatever the month of the year ; I also find particularly reductive and misogynist to care about women on one single day of the year ; and the list goes on...

I am not specifically proud of being gay, nor have I ever been ashamed of it. I like the idea of the Gay Pride's carnival, though I rarely joined the parades. Like Mardi Gras it is a festive day when anyone can show themselves in whatever way pleases them. But if I ever decide to paint my front door in rainbow colours why should I wait for June to do so?

Each of these days / months is kind of sold as a free celebration (yes I like oxymorons, I'm a Libra after all). But we all know better than that.

All of this to make the Planet aware that today is the day that I unilaterally decided to name "Gorgeous-Guy-Jumping-Sky-High-Waving-A-rainbow-Flag-Day". Oh Yeah!

This last one is quite CCCP-Artsy, don't you think?

Disclaimer: this is a one day in one year only event. Next one may (surely) be celebrating whatever fantasy and mood I will be in. Predicting the date would be even less accurate than a 10 days forth weather forecast.

P.S.: should you feel the urge of reproducing the action shown in the pictures above, please avoid jumping from any too high location - you may also want to use a couple of mattresses to secure your wonderful performance landing.

P.P.S.: the quack came in with the pills, so I'll let you manage the comment section. "Yes, Napoleon, I'm coming! Just let me put my funnel-hat on"

Right there with ya, buddy, specifically: "I am not specifically proud of being gay, nor have I ever been ashamed of it. LOVE IT.

Hallelujah!*
I knew I could not be alone not being politically correct on such matters :-)
Thank you Mark.

*: being an atheist doesn't keep me from loving the song. Especially Jef Buckley's cover.

Oh, I do love celebrating a holiday... but you are quite right - ESPECIALLY about PRIDE. I did my post today basically about the same thing. Quite agree with you. Stay PROUD. Kizzes.
