Wow... talk about lacking some big picture thinking. I am appalled. I assume all of this happened in America, where we celebrate the mediocre and the perversely indifferent.

Stupidity runs among any society and peeks once in a while until it gets muffled, unfortunately always at other people's expense.
I for myself never understood how come the French Revolution is taught at schools as something to be 'praised', and neither Napoleon's era that ensued. Not to mention the pro-fascists/nazis all over Europe a century ago which led to a pogrom, itself rooted in the imperialist anti-Semitism from Russia in the late 1800s...
We know that History always tends to repeat itself, we also know that studying it is the key factor to avoid the repetition of these errors. But it's not that people never learn, more that most of them are too lazy to learn while part of the elite get great benefit from the masses to remain ignorant.
I sure hope fo Joe Biden to mostly meet his (an your) expectations during his presidency, and why not his vice-president to take over the next if she proves good enough at the job.
Or… maybe some frustrated dictator will end it all up by pushing a red button at hand.
Anyway, the good news is we are Friday, meaning that in a few hours I’ll get to pour myself a glass of Merlot and raise it to my blog-friends’ wellbeing, which includes you, and Rick, and Pat, and Mark, and the list goes on :-p
