Last I checked a Ventoline inhaler (Salbutamol sulfate) costs 3,94€ (4,45 US$) here and 65% of it is taken care of by Healthcare. I was once prescribed a new version of it - Airomir - made by another lab who basically only changed the spraying system while keeping the composition the same, only to sell it double the price at 7,67€ (8,68 US$).

It's been years since the usage and selling of salbutamol sulfate to asthmatic patients is no longer tied to a patent and became a generic drug. Such a cost for an inhaler in the US is outrageous.

The labs' greed is no news to anyone. But some countries' governments just seem to lack the will to keep that greed at bay.
