@Mark: I love that gif on your blog, and it's a neat choice for your avatar. Plus it suits you :-)
@Pat: do you mean 'awful' like in how gently absurd situations they would get into?
@Upton: I think I loved watching this show - years after it was released - just because the storyline and the characters were totally cartoonesque. Sometimes people forget that being good at comedy is much harder than at drama.
@Rick: you've got Tom Lester, Upton has Ralph, I'll go for Eva Gabor: I want to believe she would have made the perfect BFF to share Friday cocktails with ;-)
I'll take Mrs. Doris Ziffel, if you please. I see her in Perry Mason reruns from time to time. Her stage name was Barbara Pepper and she was a platinum beauty and Goldwyn Girl in her early career. When she gained weight she became a character actor in movies and TV. Died too young.

I used to love this show! Now, it's pretty ridiculous. Except for Eb, I'll always have the hots for him. But he didn't age well.
I loved Ralph. Ralph Monroe. Mary Grace Canfield. She was a gas on that show. Thanks for the shout out, dear one. Love me some acreage.
Used to watch it just to see how awful it would be.
And sad to think that everyone in that show is now long dead.
