I'm so old that I've forgotten how to write in cursive, except for my name, and even that's getting shaky. And I can no longer do math without a calculator. But at least I can tell time on a clock with hands!
That's all the things I can do now and funny to see the young guys not even knowing how to write in cursive or read a normal clock.
Saw that video of two teenagers not know how to dial a phone with a rotative dialer. Some said it was staged but never know.
For mental maths, I often see it for young guys. I've tested a cashier once while giving her a special amont of money to round up my purchase. She sais to me: well, I'm on school vacation so I let my maths in school. So dump ass...
You need maths ALL the time in your life.
