Again: and so what?
Since when individuals owning companies should have the ability to have sovereign countries bend to their greedy and selfish will?
Does he think he is in a position to act like he were a country himself, imposing a commercial blockade to others, and to a whole Continent that is much?!
Well then, if his overweening pride makes him make such a threat let's take his word for it.
After all:
- It's not as if the world was actually in need of Facebook nor Instagram to properly and humanly function.
- European people using these so-called social-media could really benefit for a while from the lack of them, if only to be made aware of their futility as well as their redundancy - there are others on the market.
- Facebook and Instagram's stock price would immediately go down even deeper than just recently, which would go to show how much evanescent is the actual value of these advertisement-based and private data collecting companies...
I do hope that the European Parliament won't give an inch. We forced several times the GAFAM to pay their fair share of taxes after years of evasion. This time let's force them to respect the privacy of our citizens.
So here's what we think of your childish gibberish, M.Z:

I agree. By all means let Facebook boycott Europe, it will only hasten its own long overdue demise and exposure as a scam and a grift.
@elJiffy: I'm afraid they will find ways to compromise on both sides. Politics as usual. I sometimes wonder why I still bother to go to the polls...
He'll cave in some sort of a compromise. Stockholders will demand it because the data collection is too valuable a commodity. Overall we, as individuals, give up a ton of privacy each time we use a GPS system to help us navigate, when we use any online search engine, or make any purchase through a website. The real issue IMO is that companies in general don't respect our privacy for the same reason - they makes tons of money by selling the collected data to one another.
LOVE KITTY KAT! Have no need for Fuckerberg or his Fakebook. Social media sucks. And one day soon, everyone will wake up and realize it.
Ah! The wonderful kitty-talk!
Cats so get us used to see them as indifferent toward our lives. So much that when they decide to pass on their comments we just foolishly answer them like "Wow! You can actually speak?! Can you repeat this? But please wait 'til I turn on my camera, will you?"
And we come up too late, most of the times :-)
(no worries, I’ve got another one that’s as much cute as this one, for later on)
