As a man not interested in American pickup trucks but visually stimulated with automotive design in all its forms, this is hilarious. In 1981 when Dodge introduced the Ram pickup, its design was conservative and had mediocre sales for 12 years. In 1993 the design was changed to what we basically see now, a big, beefy, muscular, chrome-laden pickup truck, macho to say the least. Sales have been strong since the redesign. The first time I actually saw one on the street, I had this thought that reminded me of your meme. I said someone needs to design a license plate frame for many buyers of that truck that says, "I'm overcompensating for my tiny penis.
Tis true. I despise those MF's and their earth destroying machines. Big vehicles to intimidate and shore up your insecurities? What a racket. The car industry should be ashamed of themselves peddling such tripe while the earth is dying.
@Milleson: I looked the two versions up and yes the recent one definitely aim at posers.
@upton: I think it's safe to think that most of big trucks buyers are too self-centered on their tiny thingy to be concerned by something as mundane as Earth's welfare.
