A Shout-Out For Wikipedia

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted and asked by the Wikimedia Foundation if I could financially contribute to their work at spreading free culture and education all over the world. You may have seen such calls for contribution on-top of a Wikipedia page after a search, but they rarely contact their subscribers directly, once a year at most.

Once again I asked myself "is it worth spending a bill or two?" - because useless questions are always worth a try (and they're fun, too :-) - although I knew what my answer’d be.

Anyway, should you like to contribute to something that's useful beyond your ever dreamed grasp, then you shall consider following this link : Donate Wikimedia Org

It may not help you fall asleep quicker at night, nor provide you with harder boners, or anything else but feeling good. But if you are educated enough to know what a good deed is, then you know what I mean. Scout's word!

It does do a heart good to donate to a cause like that once in a while.

Yeah, I just gave $ again to Wikipedia. I use it all the time. I think the email I got said only 2 percent of users give anything. If you don't want to donate on a regular basis, give on a one-time basis. And if you never use Wikipedia, you must either be awfully smart and knowledgeable or pretty parochial (that is, limited and uncurious).
