880. Sorry - Can't Agree

Considering what AppleTV has made of Isaac Asimov's Foundation, I am thankful Mr Villeneuve set his mind and will to make a movie of Dune - and I do hope he will go on with the rest of the story.

I agree with you. Now, if they wanted to do all 9 books, that would be a different kettle of sandworms.
He's been given the green light for Part 2.

I liked the first movie. It was slow... but well made.

The Sci Fi channel did a Dune miniseries in 2000 (I have it on DVD). Some aspects of it are good, some are pretty bad. Dune aficionados argue not over which is better (the miniseries or the 1984 movie), but which is worse. I have high hopes for the new movie. -Larry

Pat, having read the books a long time ago I can't remember which one mainly revolves on the Bene Gesserit, but I'm sure I will enjoy to see that part of the saga finally told in a movie.

Larry, I remember the first movie quite well but no image from the series comes to my mind even though I'm pretty certain I watched it at the time - which I think says a lot. As per the latest iteration well I trust our long time Dune Fan Mark: I haven't seen the Villeneuve's movie yet, for I'm waiting for the theaters to be less crowded, but what Mark shortly wrote about its screening yesterday sure makes me want to see it.
